Company History
PT Malacca Trust Wuwungan Insurance Tbk (MTWI) which was founded in 1952 under the name PT Asuransi Wuwungan is one of the oldest general insurance companies in Indonesia. In 2011, MTWI was acquired by Malacca Trust Limited, a company based in Singapore, through its subsidiaries, namely PT Batavia Prosperindo Internasional and PT Batavia Prosperindo Finance. In 2017, MTWI listed its shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange through an Initial Public Offering.

MTWI is engaged in property, motor vehicle, health, hull, transportation, personal-travel accidents, liability, engineering, and miscellaneous business lines, where the largest contribution of the company's premium income comes from health, motor vehicles, and property.
